Brotherhood of 
Tarbais bean

Some ten years ago, the very young Tourist Office in Tarbes decided to highlight the local traditions, especially their horses and …their beans.
It was this that in 1992 led to the Brotherhood of Tarbais beans being founded.It objectives are:
 - To participate in the promotion of the Bean, which had nearly ceased to be cultivated in the 1960s.
 - Support the efforts of the (young) Co-operative.

The costume: a red and yellow cape (the colours of Tarbes), black beret, and medallion in the shape of the Tarbais bean worn round the neck.

The brotherhood has enthroned some 160 peoples since its foundation, both French and foreign, from the gastronomic, sportive and political worlds, as well as the press.

It has 15 active members that notably include:
